Week 5: 52 Week Project, 2014

So, week 5 of my grateful photo project gave me snow to play in!  This is a phenomenon that happens only about once every 4 – 5 years where I live. Us Southerners get teased for cancelling school and being inept for driving in wintery conditions that yield any amount less than 6′ of snow but I think the infrequency qualifies this as a necessary safety measure.  Where I come from, people can’t drive anyway!  My husband, however, knows well how to drive in these conditions….even if he does enjoy doing things to scare me in it….so he was pretty happy to ready himself and take me out to play.  We saw several people out with their trucks pulling sleds FULL of people behind them.  It scared me a little for the people riding on the sleds but….it also looked kinda fun and I think I’d have liked to give it a try.

I was layered with 6 tops and a coat, thermal pants under my jeans and two pairs of socks and rain boots.  Wouldn’t you know I nearly froze my toes off!  (My husband wore one pair of socks and tennis shoes – perfectly fine. :/ )  Did I mention I’m not a fan of cold weather…except for a day or two of snow?

I hope you all enjoy this glimpse into my snow day, unless I move it’ll be another couple of years before you get the chance to see another one!
