PhotoChallenge.org | Week #41 Rule of Odds

So, I guess technically I’m late making my submission for week #41 Challenge from PhotoChallenge.org.  In fact, I think I missed last weeks Challenge, too.  Which was disappointing to me since it gave me yet another excuse to grab a photo I’ve had floating around in the back of my head for several years now and have just never taken the time to capture.  Oh, well, sometimes life just gets too busy and as far as I am concerned, my family will always take priority in those moments.

After finding out some very sad news, my husband took me out to, hopefully, cheer me up a little.  We ended up at Starbucks getting one of my favorite drinks, a Caramel Apple Spice.  He got a Cafe Vanilla Frappuccino and our son tried out a new drink, some Cotton Candy thing that was *good.*  The three drinks sitting there on the table made me think of the Rule of Odds challenge going on, so I arranged them in such a way as to make use of the sun set light flooding the dining area from a floor to ceiling, wall to wall, glass wall on the front side of the building.  It threw long dark shadows across the table to the left of the drinks.  It felt dramatic and that led me to edit the photo differently than I usually would have.  Rather than creating a soft, vintage, or desaturated look in the image, I left the colors vibrant and actually strengthened their saturation a bit to make the image all the more intense.

I am so very sorry.
