Fresh Lemonade: Financial Peace University, Tigers, Pigs, Chickens and Missions

Andrea Crawleys Lemonade Stand rYou may have noticed that I did not post an edition of The Lemon Press this past Friday.  If you were anticipating it, I apologize.  To be honest, I almost chose to not post Fresh Lemonade today.  This last week has been stressful both physically and mentally.  If you know me personally on Facebook then you are aware that my husband and I have been attending Financial Peace University Boot Camp through our church (Rabbit Trail: if you are in debt I would highly encourage you to sign up for Financial Peace University and apply the lessons learned to your finances)!  Facing your finances is never easy and often stressful and exhausting, but Dave Ramsey is a good encourager and helps you to accept the responsibility of creating and managing a budget. So Friday, we spent most of the day at our shared storage unit rotating the inventory so we can sort through our items for a yard sale next month.  It. Was. VERY. Hot.  And a lot of heavy lifting.  And we have So. Much. Stuff.

Saturday we made a two and a half hour trip to Clemson University for a couple of photo shoots at the Botanical Gardens there.  I tested a technique, shooting to the right, during these shoots and I gotta be honest, I don’t think I’m gonna like it but I also think I need to practice it a bit more before I toss the technique to the garbage bin. On a side note, I definitely recommend planning a day or two visit with your family and make the trip to check it out!  While we were there, we visited the Hanover House which is not reported to be haunted but while I was speaking to the guide, in my peripheral vision I saw someone coming down the stairs ‘behind’ me.  I kept expecting this person to come around onto the main floor next to me or to see them pass next to me and the tour guide (who, by the way, also thought she heard someone coming up/down the stairs!) into the room behind us but it never happened. Beautiful, fun, and just a little spooky!  Also, several miles off campus, heading back toward the interstate, is an amazing barbeque place, The Smokin Pig.  Make plans to have lunch or supper here while you’re in town.

And now, today, we sent our baby girl (who’s not so much of a baby anymore) on her first mission trip….out of state.  She’ll be gone for a week; today is day one, and I miss her terribly already.  But what she doesn’t know is, while she is away, her granddaddy and I are planning to build a chicken coop for her 10 chicks which, hopefully, will include a space for her to enjoy and relax!  My dad found the idea in a magazine, Living the Country Life.

On top of the coop to build, I have three photo sessions to edit this week!  I hope you will forgive that I didn’t post anything Friday but that you will come back this Friday to see your ‘assignment’ for the weekend!

Go ahead, comment!  Let me know if you’ve been to the Botanical Gardens at Clemson University or not, what was your favorite part, or what’s there that you want to see?

See ya’ Friday!
